SONATRACH signs framework agreements with seven universities in east of country

ALGIERS- The national company Sonatrach does not miss any opportunity to improve its already very remarkable performance thanks to the strategic choices made by its management staff.

To this end, a framework agreements was signed, Thursday, between Sonatrach and seven universities in the East of the country. These agreements relate to partnership, the exchange of skills and the development of scientific research, particularly in the hydrocarbons and renewable energies sector, a new hobbyhorse for our national company.

“The primary objective of this partnership between our company and these universities is to contribute to the development and implementation of the government’s strategy inherent in security and energy transition while strengthening the links between the university and its socioeconomic environment ”, indicated the central R&D director of Sonatrach, Mustapha Benamara, during the signing of these agreements last Thursday in Constantine.

“The proven skills of the university will be of great help to the national company to enable it to develop its production and provide better service to its customers based on the technology and the knowledge of university researchers”, continued M . Benamara.

Laboratories, and a thematic study network will, therefore, be created within this framework in order to find solutions to the problems encountered in the field by the various Sonatrach teams, specified, P. Sofiane Hichem Salaouatchi, representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research where he holds the position of Director of Technological Development and Innovation.

A technological pole specializing in the field of energy will be set up in the medium term to facilitate access for Algerian researchers to practical work in the field, which should contribute to the development of the national economy in these high-value fields, added the same official. The conventions were signed by the rectors of the universities of Constantine 1 and 3, Batna 2, Jijel, Oum El Bouaghi, Sétif and Guelma.

In addition, two fixed-term contracts were concluded between Sonatrach and the CRBT (Biotechnology Research Center) and the ENPC (National Polytechnic School of Constantine).

Finally, workshops were organized during the study day on research and development opportunities between the Sonatrach Group and partner universities, organized at the Marriott hotel in Constantine and which enabled many specialists in the field of the two sectors to meet and share their experiences and research.
