APN: Algeria-Uzbekistan parliamentary friendship group set up in Algiers

ALGIERS- “Algeria-Uzbekistan” parliamentary friendship group was installed, Thursday, at the People’s National Assembly (APN), with the aim of furthering bilateral relations.

Speaking at the installation ceremony, Chairman of the Parliament lower house’s Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Community Committee, Mohamed Hani said that the group would be “a solid framework for consultation and exchange with a view to consolidating relations between the two countries”.

Relations between the two countries “are based on mutual trust and respect as well as joint management of action for a just world order respecting the sovereignty of States and the dignity of peoples”, he said, adding that “this group aims to consolidate bilateral cooperation by intensifying political consultations between the two countries”.

For his part, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that this parliamentary group will contribute to the “consolidation of the tradition of consultation between the two countries within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy”.

MP Ahmed Ben Aissa, president of the said group, pledged to work to properly carry out the mission assigned to him with the aim of “reviving bilateral cooperation and seizing the investment opportunities offered, taking into account the win-win principle”.
