E-health startup REMA wins Abidjan round of Seedstars

Collaborative medicine platform REMA has been named the winner of Ivory Coast round of Seedstars World. The startup will now represent the country at the Seedstars Summit in Switzerland to compete for up to USD one million in equity investment and other prizes.

REMA was named “Best Startup in Abidjan” for its innovative sustainable solution dedicated to African doctors for better medical decisions. As a part of the prize, the e-health startup will be participating at the Seedstars Summit, which takes place in Switzerland, in April 2019. The summit is a weeklong training program that gives participating startups an opportunity to meet the more than 65 winners from other fast-growing economies, as well as investors and mentors from around the world. The final day of the Summit is dedicated to pitching in front of an audience of more than 1000 attendees, with the possibility of winning up to USD one million in equity investment and other prizes.

11 startups pitched at the Abidjan seedstars competition in front of a prestigious jury, including Ismael CISSE, Cheikh DIALLO, Clyde VACHER, Josephine NDAO.

Dothan Group, with its fun mobile application that allows traders to manage their accounting easily and get bank’s credit, came second and TIKKEO, with its online event & ticketing platform, allows anyone to buy their ticket without moving with their mobile money account, grabbed the last spot in the top 3. The other startups invited to pitch were Afroshop, Aladain, DISTRICASH, Moja Wallet, Oschool E-learning, YEFA, ZENAPI, ILKREA.

Continuing on its world tour of fast-growing startup scenes in emerging markets, Seedstars World’s next stop is Douala at ActivSpaces, to select the best startup in Cameroon. Seedstars World is looking for smart startups that solve regional issues and/or develop profitable products for the global market.
