Algeria’s LafargeHolcim to launch exporting cement to West African countries in 2018

LafargeHolcim complex of Algeria is planning to launch the first export of cement, in the first trio of 2018, towards the West African countries, which is a promising market in building materials, especially cement, as the import rate is estimated at 21 million tons per year to these countries.

The CEO of DuBois company has explained that “Algeria is expected to register a surplus of about 10 million tons / year of cement in 2020, which is an agreed number in this sector, in view of the industrial capabilities, that are currently being created, which requires installations for the export of this surplus,” revealing that the company has launched contacts with various institutions and ports to install berths and storage space.

In this regard, LafargeHolcim complex of Algeria is planning to export 500,000 tons of cement, from the first trio of 2018 to West African countries.
